Streaming Rights Help

  • When you begin a performance order for a show where streaming rights are available, you will be asked if you wish to stream your production. If you select 'Yes' and answer the corresponding streaming-related questions, a "Streaming with ShowShare" package for that specific title will automatically be added to your shopping cart. Once you complete your order, in addition to your normal performance licensing agreement, you will receive streaming licensing rider.

  • Currently, the only approved platform to stream Playscripts shows is ShowShare by Broadway On Demand. For more information click HERE.
  • ShowShare is a streaming platform offered by Broadway On Demand and powered by Stellar Tickets. Utilizing top of the line security features, ShowShare provides high-quality streaming for amateur and professional productions.
  • When licensing the performance rights, you will be able to add "Streaming with ShowShare" to your order.
  • If you want to stream show that is not listed as having streaming rights available please feel free to reach out to your licensing representative or email us at info@playscripts.com with your request. Please be as detailed as possible regarding your streaming plans as we will be checking with the rights-holders.

  • Customers are no longer charged any up-front technology fees to use ShowShare. Customers are required to purchase a “Live/Video Archival License,” which typically ranges between $75 - $150. Customers also participate in a box office revenue share. Customers keep 55% of their box office, and the remaining 45% covers platform costs and required author royalty payments.   • When you purchase ShowShare with a Playscripts title you get a streaming licensing rider, which gives you the rights to stream your production and you get the platform to stream your production. Our partners at Stellar are your go-to streaming platform; productions must stream on this platform.
  • Yes. You will need to license as many performances as you plan to stream and pay the applicable royalty fees for those performances.
  • Yes. ShowShare is pay-per-view streaming so you will absolutely be able to sell tickets to your audience.
  • You determine your own base ticket price and participate in a box office revenue share. Customers keep 55% of their box office, and the remaining 45% covers platform costs and required author royalty payments.
  • If you are a professional or community theatre, yes, you can sell your ShowShare tickets through another party. However, the per ticket fees do still apply.

    For schools (college and below), you must use ShowShare to sell your pay-per-view tickets.
  • Yes. Although no upfront technology fees are to be paid by the customer if they are streaming their production, the customer is required to opt into an automatic revenue share of the box office. The customer keeps 55% of their streaming revenue. The remaining 45% is a payment towards platform technology, staff, and required author royalties.
  • ShowShare can be viewed on Stellar Tickets' streaming platform using desktop or laptop computers, iPhone or iPad, Apple TV, Android, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, or a Roku player.
  • This license gives you permission to live stream your production or to video record it for streaming and/or archival purposes. Customers must obtain a Live/Video Archival License to stream or video record any production. Please visit our website to properly license your show. On the licensing application click YES that you wish to stream your production, to obtain your Live/Video Archival License.
  • If you wish to add to the streaming rights to an order already placed, please contact us at info@playscripts.com with your order number and we will adjust your license accordingly.
  • Yes. Customers must stream with ShowShare, using our exclusive ShowShare platform, powered by Stellar. Before streaming, the customer must obtain a license to produce the show and obtain a Live/Video Archival License to stream the show. Please visit our website to properly license your show. On the licensing application click YES that you wish to stream your production, to obtain your Live/Video Archival License.
