Married 18 years and a mother of three, Jayne Sheehan has made an agreement with her husband, Ron, that will allow her to have an extramarital relationship. When Jayne, a student of philosophy and a fierce champion of truth, reveals to Ron, a liberal political journalist, that she has begun the affair, he denies the agreement's existence. Jayne challenges Ron to accept in reality what he has bargained for in the abstract and pursues the affair, confident that Ron will accept and that no damage will be done to their marriage. Jayne's unwavering faith in her actions generates unpredictable and horrific consequences in this black comedy-drama about enlightenment.
