Lisa Dillman's plays include Detail of a Larger Work, The Walls, Flung, Half of Plenty, Rock Shore, Six Postcards, No Such Thing, Shady Meadows, and Ground. Her work has been produced at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Actors Theatre of Louisville, American Theatre Company, Rogue Machine Theatre, Summer Play Festival, Hypothetical Theatre Company, and Rivendell Theatre Ensemble. Her plays have been developed by the Goodman Theatre, Victory Gardens, the O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Huntington Theatre Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Northlight Theatre, The Women's Project, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Next Theatre Company, and the National New Play Network. Her short works have been seen at New York's Estrogenius Festival, Australia's Short & Sweet Festival, New Jersey Repertory, City Theatre (DE), Actors Theatre of Louisville, Theatre Lumina, Collaboraction Sketchbook, and others. She has received new play commissions from the Goodman Theatre, where she was a member of the inaugural Playwrights Unit; Steppenwolf Theatre; Northlight Theatre; Rivendell Theatre Ensemble; the Chicago Humanities Festival; and Imagination Theatre Company. She has received two playwriting fellowships from the Illinois Arts Council, as well as a Sprenger-Lang New History Play Prize (Rock Shore), the Sarett National Playwright Award (Separate Rooms), and a Julie Harris -- Beverly Hills Theatre Guild Award (Terre Haute). Her work has twice been nominated for Chicago's Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Play. She has been a writer in residence at Blue Mountain Center, Ragdale, Western Michigan University, Prague Summer at Charles University, the William Inge Center for the Arts, and the Millay Colony. Her work is published by Samuel French and Dramatic Publishing, as well as anthologized in collections from Heinemann, Playscripts, Inc., Smith & Kraus, and New Issues Press.
